DESCRIPTION:

The Dodena trek is one of the most popular treks in the kingdom. Starting from the Paro valley and ending in Thimphu, this trek offers some of the most breathtaking views of Mount Jhomolhari (7,314 m), one of the holiest and highest mountains in Bhutan. Stretching over a period of 9 days, the route passes through two high altitude passes, the Yale La (4,950 m) and the Nyele La (4,890 m), making this trek a demanding one. The best season to go on this trek is from April to June and September to November.

Before and after the trek, Namkha has arranged a brief tour of the western cultural centers of Paro, Thimphu and Punakha so that you may marvel at the beauty of Bhutanese architecture, religion and cultural traditions.

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

The best seasons to visit Bhutan are Spring and Autumn. During the months of March till May, the Kingdom enjoys beautiful days and moderately cold nights. Flowers are in full bloom and it is also a perfect time to go trekking. The months of September till the end of November are equally sunbathed. The autumn light is particularly clear compared to the Spring and provides a photographer’s paradise! Autumn and Spring are also the festival seasons where you can coincide your trip with one of them. See our festival page here for dates.
